A storytelling/playwriting Masterclass led by award winning playwright (and one of Maclean's 20 people to watch in 2020) Falen Johnson.

These masterclass sessions with Falen are designed to create a brave space for women identifying and non-binary individuals to share their stories, and develop those stories through creative methods. Comprised of approximately 2 group sessions and individual meetings, adapted to the participants’ needs.

Participants will bring an idea, story, or script in development to the group session/lecture led by Falen Johnson. Falen will lead development and facilitate group discussions. Following the group session, participants will engage in individual sessions with the facilitator to discuss and develop their ideas and creative style. The masterclass will close in a group session to share progress, discoveries and excerpts.

Through this masterclass, participants will learn to  identify their writing and storytelling voice. Falen has written in numerous styles, and has experience supporting writers through various techniques.

Once travel and gathering restrictions are released, we will endeavour to organize an in person meeting of the participants and Falen for a final live session.

Priority will be given to women and non-binary, Indigenous and marginalised people - However all voices are welcome.

Applicants must be based in a northern community, or have strong ties to the northern communities.
